A former lode Au occurence/mine located in the SW¼ sec. 6, T18N, R10E, MDM, 3.3 km (2.1 miles) WSW of Mack House and about 3 miles WSW of Alleghany, along the W canyon wall of Blue Ravine (S slope of Pliocene Ridge), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. Located 4 miles from the intersection of the road to Alleghany and Magnus Orchard Road.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in mafic volcanic rock, ultramafic intrusive rock and serpentinite. The ore body strikes N20E and dips 45S. A quartz vein is hosted in serpentinized mafic & ultramafic rocks. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of an adit and several pits.
