A W occurrence located in sec. 3, T4S, R1E, SBM, 3.5 km (2.2 miles) SSE of Mount Edna (coordinates of record) (8 miles S of Banning). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. GROUP COMPRISES 4 CLAIMS; BLUE BOY, BLUE BOY NO. 1, BLACK MOUNTAIN AND BLACK MOUNTAIN NO. 1
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in schist. The ore body is lenticular, strikes E and dips 40S at a width of 1.22 meters and a length of 15.24 meters. Scheelite occurs on vein in the Blue Boy claim and tactite exposures striking NE on the Black Mountain claim. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 2 (Peninsular Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings. An open cut 12 feet long and 5 feet deep was excavated on the Blue Boy claim. Shallow open cuts and a 10 foot shaft are on the Black Mountain claim.
No production is known.
Ore on the Blue Boy reported at 1% WO3. Twelve tons of ore assayed at 6% WO3 were extracted from the Black Mountain claim.
