A former lode Au mine located in sec. 6, T4N, R12E, MDM, 3.1 km (1.9 miles) NNW of San Andreas, along highway 49. Operated around 1896. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in rocks of the Amador Group (slate, schist). The ore body dips W at a width of 60.96 meters. The vein is a zone 40 to 200 feet wide in weathered talcose slate and schist. Quartz and calcite veins, most of which dip W, one 4 feet, dips 40E, are exposed in then open cut. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include surface openings comprised of an open cut.
