Old Keystone Mine
Commodity: Ore Materials: gold
Deposit: Polymetallic vein and replacement. Several areas of high-grade gold-arsenic mineralization have been identified along the Keystone thrust fault.
Deposit type: Polymetallic replacement
Development: In 1996, Leader Mining International reported that they were commencing a drilling program on the Yellowhorse gold mine. Yellowhorse is described as an alkali porphyry system that is gold rich and sulfide poor, with significant values of platinum, silver, and copper. In 2004, Boxxer Gold Corp. began a diamond core drilling program on its Boss property, located in the Goodsprings mining district about 55 miles westsouthwest of Las Vegas. The preliminary drilling program will total approximately 3,000 feet of HQ-size core from five to six shallow (400- to 600-foot) angled holes designed to test three targets identified by geologic mapping, rockchip sampling and geochemical/geophysical survey programs completed since the fall of 2003. Concurrent with the drilling program, detailedgeologic mapping, rock chip sampling, and prospecting will continue on the east side of the property where several areas of high-grade gold-arsenic mineralization have been identified along the Keystone thrust fault.
