Tsavorite is found in quartz veins in graphitic schists belonging to the metasedimentary Pacha Formation.
The graphitic schists are fine grained. Quartz, graphite and muscovite are major minerals, whereas pyrite, apatite and limonite are subordniate minerals.
Tsavorite is found in pockets and as disseminated grains in quartz veins as well as in the schist near to the contact with hydrothermal quartz.
