Zeolites are scarce in the massive Eocene basalt road cuts along Highway 101, just north of Sea Lions Caves, at Sea Lion Point, north of Florence, Lane County, Oregon. The cavities are generally under 2 cm across lined with calcite, analcime, and natrolite. The site was first found by Rudy Tschernich in 1995. Collecting is difficult and dangerous since it is right on the edge of a heavily traveled highway. Rudy Tschernich
