The mine was developed in 1896 by Thomas and James White. September 1897 it was taken over by a Perth syndicate. The ground was very hard which slowed development. The shaft reached 9 feet on a very rich shoot of ore. Specimens were obtained literally covered in coarse gold. The shoot then took a sharp turn westwards and ran out of the shaft. While initially very rich, it proved a small find with 50 tonnes of ore crushed in October 1897. Its location on the goldfield is uncertain.
