The early history of the Anglo Cu claims is not known. They were first pegged for copper in 1960 and forfeited in 1964. They were repegged in 1967 and 1971. Very limited production of copper came from shallow workings following chalcopyrite bearing quartz veins hosted in biotite schists. Tourmalinitisation, i.e. boron metasomatism, along fractures and faults is common. Apparently some eluvial wolframite had also been produced. The mineralization is located in a structurally complex cross-fold zone at the northern end of the Tshontanda belt.
