Retail and other businesses constructed during 2013, much blasted rock was exposed at that time, afterwards only a long cut in amphibolite remains visible. Located across State Route 111 from the former Old Mine Plaza construction site (Home Depot). Development here exposed steeply-dipping amphibolite, the same scheelite-hosting bedrock found at many sites east of Route 111. Cross-cutting, quartz-rich, hydrothermal veins, hosting albite, chlorophane, clinochlore and pyrite are present (a good one is behind Edge Fitness), similar to those east of Route 111 also. Altered zones in the amphibolite exhibit well-crystallized clinozoisite and scapolite. A night-time survey of the amphibolite rock cut with SW UV light found scheelite only as tiny grains along mineralized/metasomatized joints.
