Locality type:
Köppen climate type:
Kimberlite field in northeastern Alberta consisting of at least 7 kimberlite pipes: Phoenix, Dragon, Xena, Valkyrie, Legend, Kendu, and K7A. The Birch Mountain Kimberlite Field is more evolved than the nearby Buffalo Hill field and is generally not diamoniferous. A few micro-diamonds and macro-diamonds have been found in the Phoenix and Legend pipes.
