Ref.: New York State Museum Bulletin No. 199, Alling, Harold L. (July, 1917), The Adirondack Graphite Deposits: Fig. 1 p. 13, 80-83. A graphite mine located 3½ miles WNW of Pottersville, just East of the junction of Trout & Alder brooks, on the Essex Co. line. Mineralization is a quartz-feldspar schist 18 to 25 feet (6 to 8 meters) thick. Started before 1900. Workings include an inclined shaft 150 feet deep, a vertical shaft & 2 small prospect pits.
