Garam Chashma
Located northwest of Chitral town, close to Afghan Border. Used to be a huge trading point for lapis lazuli. Yields aquamarine with some of the deepest blues available. Different mines at different altitudes. Upper one produces the deepest blues. Still relatively unknown location (even among Peshawar sellers!), as local aquamarines are usually labelled as coming from Chitral without more precision.
Large garnets (probably almandine), tangerine to fist-size are not uncommon.
Tourmaline production is very limited, rather small brownish to black crystals embedded in hard matrix.
