The palynoflora suggested different age such as Permian (Sakmarian; Menéndez 1971) or earliest Permian (Gutiérrez & Césari 2000). Radiometric dating of other correlated units (e.g. La Colina, La Rioja Province) brings a middle Stephanian age (295 ± 6 Ma, Late Carboniferous; Archangelsky et al. 1995).
