Uranium mine, worked for a short period of time in 1960.
Produced 29 800 tonnes at 0.2% U3O8. Mined by United Uranium NL. Ore was processed at the El Sherana mill. Only secondary uranium minerals occurred here in the Koolpin Formation, Carpentarian tuff, and associated with minor occurrences of phosphate rock. The ore body is adjacent to a major east-west trending reverse fault that separates the Koolpin Formation rocks from the sandstone and ignimbrites of the El Sherana Group. The deposit shows irregular disseminations of secondary uranium species, mainly metatorbernite. As with all the mines in the area, it has been completely rehabilitated and nothing remains.
