A former placer Au-Ag-PGE (Pt) (hydraulic) mine located in T30N, R11W and in T30N R12W (sec. 30, T31N, R12W) MDM, 4.9 km (3.1 miles) NNE of Peanut and 6.0 km (3.7 miles) SSE of Hayfork, along Kingsbury Gulch (Part of Kingsbury Gulch is within Trinity National Forest. Partly unsurveyed. Location given is at the junction of the East and North Forks of Kingsbury Gulch, near lode Au mines. The exact location of placering is unknown but likely took place along much of the gulch.). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a stream placer deposit (Deposit model: Model code 119; USGS model code 39a; BC deposit profile C01. C02; deposit model name: Placer Au-PGE; Mark3 model number 54), hosted in Holocene gravel. The ore body is a stream sediment deposit at surface. Ore controls included stream hydraulics. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 9 (Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Undated granitic rocks, unit 2 (Western Klamath Mountains).
Related Tectonic structures include the Klamath Mountains Accreted Terrane - Hayfork Terrane.
Analytical data results: Au:Pt = 4:1 (Spencer). Results: Pt:Au = 1 ounce/$750 (1:36.28) (Logan). The Pt is fine and flaky.
