A former Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 2, T19N, R10E, MDM, 1.7 km (1.0 mile) SSW of Downieville, along Slug Canyon, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. Located approximately on the boundary between the SW¼NW¼ sec. 2 & the SE¼NE¼ sec. 3.
Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
