A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the SW¼ sec. 5 & in the SE¼ sec. 6, T19N, R12E, MDM, 3.2 km (2.0 miles) SSE of Loganville and 3.5 km (2.2 miles) SW of Sierra City, E of Keystone Mountain and N of the Henness Pass Road, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. This mine adjoins the Roman and Keystone Mines.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate and porphyry. The ore body strikes E and dips 60S at a thickness of 0.61 meter. The quartz vein lies between a slate footwall and a porphyry hanging wall, both broken up. McCulloch, et al states that the vein is in chert and strikes NNW. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
