A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the SE¼SW¼ sec. 3, T15N, R11E, MDM, 3.2 km (2.0 miles) NNW of Damascus, along Humbug Canyon, S of the North Fork American River (S of the Dorer Ranch), on private land within a National Forest area. The property comprises 21 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate and schist. The ore body is lenticular in form at a thickness of 1.52 meters. The vein stands nearly vertical between walls of interlayered grey igneous rocks and black slaty schists and carries sulfides. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include surface and underground openings with a length of 91.44 meters and an overall depth of 2.13 meters, and comprised of shafts, adits & stopes.
