A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 33, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 1.6 km SSW of Grass Valley proper, along the W side of Boston Ravine/Wolf Creek, just upstream from the sewerage treatment plant, NNE of The Punchbowl (SW of the Massachusetts Hill (Rocky Bar) Mine). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of shallow shafts worked in the last century (19th.), but idle since approximately 1916.
