A former placer Au occurrence/drift mine located in sec. 33, & in the S½SW¼ & SW¼SE¼ sec. 34, T17N, R9E, MDM, about 2.5 km NNE of Willow Valley (town) and about 2¼ miles NE of Nevada City, on the N slope of Harmony Ridge. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Clark (1970a) states that this was a drift mine.
Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
