A former lode Au-Ag mine located in sec. 31, T3S, R31E, MDM, 5.2 km (3.2 miles) SSW of Banner Ridge (coordinates of record), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10,000 meters (NOTE: This value seems totally unreasonable since the coordinates provided place this locality on the group of prospect pit symbols on the topo map).
Mineralization is hosted in rhyolite. The ore body strikes E and dips 70S at a thickness of 0.91 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
