A former lode Au mine located in sec. 21, T4S, R18E, MDM, 2.2 km (7,200 feet) NW of Colorado (Colorado School), along Saxon Creek. Operated by Frank D. Robinson and N.P. Orr (1932-1936). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in schist and porphyry. The ore body strikes NW and dips 90. The deposit consists of quartz stringers in a quartz porphyry dike. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 213.36 meters and an overall depth of 60.96 meters and comprised of a tunnel and a short crosscut.
