A former lode Au mine located in secs. 3 & 4, T4S, R16E, MDM, 3.3 km (2.1 miles) NE of Coulterville, along Cuneo Creek, NW of Bald Mountain. This property consisted of 4 adjoining unpatented claims. Produced from an unknown date prior to 1868 until 1868. Operated by Inez Bouvier (?). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. All the claims are on the Blue Lead vein. The workings, which are on the Carson claim, are on a cutter vein about 150 feet E of the Blue Lead.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in greenstone and granodiorite. A cutter vein which crosses the Blue Lead quartz vein (local name), is on, or close to, the contact between Hunter Valley chert and meta-augite andesite greenstone. The hanging wall is chert and the footwall is greenstone in general. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of a 125 foot inclined shaft and prospect pits.
Production data are found in: Castello, W.O. (1921).
No record of production found.
