A former clay deposit/mine located in sec. 2, T32S, and in sec. 34, T31S, R34E, MDM, 6.9 km (4.3 miles) ESE of Sugarloaf Mountain (coordinates of record) and 17.3 km (10.7 miles) ENE of Tehachapi. Owned by the Filtrol Corporation, Los Angeles, California (1981). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in tuffaceous sediments in rocks of the Kinnick Formation. Local rocks include Miocene nonmarine rocks.
