A former W-Au mine located in the SW¼SW¼ sec. 22, T7S, R32E, MDM, 7.3 km (4.6 miles) SW of Bishop. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters. Originally exploited as a Au mine. Worked for W in 1951.
Mineralization is hosted in shale and granite. The ore body is a pipe-shaped body, with an elliptical cross section about 40 feet by 60 feet. The pipe rakes 45 degrees S55E. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an adit driven S30-40W for 225 feet, a 35 foot inclined winze paralleling the direction of the pipe. Stoping had been done. There is a short adit 48 feet above the main adit.
