A former Au mine located in the SE¼SW¼ sec. 16, T15S, R21E, SBM, 2.6 km (1.6 miles; 8,600 feet) ESE of Obregon and about 4 miles NE of Ogilby. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in quartz monzonite. The ore body strikes N75W and dips 50NE at a width of 1.52 meters and a length of 60.96 meters. The vein is composed of altered, sheared, Fe-stained wallrock with sparse Cu oxides and fine, free gold. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 65 foot drift adit 570 feet E (?) with a 27 foot, 15 foot and 45 foot raises. The 27 foot and 45 foot raises reach surface.
Production was a few hundred tons of ore.
