A former lode Au mine located in the E½ (estimated) sec. 26, T4N, R13E, MDM, 0.6 km (0.4 mile) ENE of High Mountain (coordinates of record), and about 4.35 km N of Soapstone Hill (coordinates of record) and about 5.65 km (3 miles) NW of Murphys, on the N slope of High Mountain (1½ miles W of the Fricot Ranch School). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips SE at a thickness of 0.61 meter. The vein zone is 22 feet thick. Masses of Au were found. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 60.96 meters, and comprised of a 100 foor adit and 200 foot shaft.
