A former lode Au mine located in the NE¼ (estimated) sec. 28, T26N, R4E, MDM, 2.2 km (7,400 feet) E of Butte Meadows, along Butte Creek (0.4 miles E of the cemetery at Butte Meadows, on Dutch Gulch). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in syenite. The ore body is 0.3 meters thick. The host syenite is described as altered and decomposed. Local rocks include Tertiary volcanic flow rocks, unit 17 (Cascade Range).
Workings include underground openings. A 150 foot adit was driven NE along the strike of the veins in 1894.
