A former lode Au mine located in the NW¼ (estimated) sec. 8, T20N, R5E, MDM, 1.5 km (5,000 feet) NW of Mount Hope (coordinates of record), along Canyon Creek (0.5 miles NW of the Schaefer Ranch). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in granite. The ore body strikes N60E and dips 50SE at a thickness of 0.91 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and unspecified underground openings with a length of 36.58 meters and an overall depth of 9.14 meters, and comprised of an open cut.
