Mineralization is hosted in Late Cretaceous chert. The ore body strikes N30-60E and dips 30S, 40NW. At the northern, and better of the two prospects, a large block containing about 50 tons of siliceous ore is exposed on the surface. It is underlain by well-bedded cherts and shales, striking N60E and dipping 30S. The other prospect is 500 feet SW where a trench exposes a 3 foot bed of massive chert cut be a few veinlets of manganese oxides. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan melange.
Workings include surface openings comprised of trenching.
No production recorded.
