A former surface and underground Au-Ag-Cu mine located in the SW¼NW¼ sec. 2, T1N, R8E, in Bulldog Canyon, ¼ mile SE of Blue Ridge about 1 miles just N of W from Goldfield and about 3¾ miles NNE of Apache Junction, on BLM-administered land. Discovered 1892 by O.E. Merrill. Produced 1914-1942. Claims extend into sec. 3. Operators included Schill Brothers and T.W. Beauchemin, O.D. Merrill. Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granite. Related structures are NW-trending faults, N-S dikes. The ore zone average width is 10 feet. The Enterprise vein, 5 to 6 feet wide, runs parallel to the Bulldog vein. A volcanic complex is exposed 100 meters NW of the mine on Blue Ridge - andesite and basalt complex, layers generally strike WNW with a 30° NE dip. The granite age is uncertain here, but is probably Precambrian.
Workings include a main shaft at 100 feet (30.48 meters) deep. Other shafts are 30 to 100 feet deep. 700 feet of workings at 50 foot level, 800 feet of workings at the 100 foot level, all from the 1918 description of the mine. Workings length totals 609.6 meters.
