Structure: Faults Faults
Alteration: Silicification
Deposit: Discovery year: 1880's fault zone/vein with associated veins and stringers striking n4-70w, dipping 45e. Ore removed from these veins is generally siliceous Ag-pb with the pb occurring As carbonate. The remaining dumps consist mainly of massive white to rose-colored quartzite breccia stained with Fe-mnoxides and coated with crystalline jarosite. Clots of mangansiderite/ psilomelane partially cement the breccia. Yellow sb? oxides and an unknown green mineral (anglesite?) occur with the ore. Locally the breccia and fault gouge are silicified. The working were not accessible, so most of the information is hear-say. ; info.src : 1 pub lit; 2 unpub rept; 3 field observ
Deposit type: Polymetallic veins
Development: 3 apparent stages of activity: 1880's, when most of district production occurred; 1960's-1970's with some exploration and production; and more recently,(1980's) drilling and surface exploration. Some dumps have been removed and milled. Management reported in 1944, 1000 tons of shipping ore and 25000 tons mill grade ore. Worked by free bros. Of pioche on lease. Gulf leased claims in 1976 and enlarged the claim group and drilled it. L. Hollingshead drove 500-ft drift in 1968-71 to join nos . 2 and 4 shafts.
