Alteration: Argillization To Advanced Argillic

Deposit: Sugary to chalcedonic lt green to white banded open-centered quartz veins cut argillized pink flow-banded rhyolite tuff. Fissure-type quartz veins average 1-2 in wide. Veins often have light green or purple coloration possibly due to fluorite(?) or tourmaline which is reported for this locality, (perry, 1964). Fine-grained oxidized pyrite occurs in the vein and host rock. Also, silvery-grey needle-like mineral may be stibnite (?) or Ag mineral. The sulfides appear to be concentrated along drusy Fe and Mn-stained vugs in the quartz vein. Many banded chalcedonic veins also noted. Quartz after lamellar calcite and multiple veining features are also abundant, vein itself is only 2-6 inches wide, but is marked by a wider zone of fracturing or shearing and argillic alteration.

Deposit type: Epithermal vein, Comstock

Development: No activity at time of examination in 1983, but some recent drill roads had taken place west and north of the mine

Ore(s): Zone Of Fracturing And/Or Shearing
