A lead and zinc occurrence near Douglastown, Gaspé.
The mineralization consists of eight sphalerite-bearing calcite veins spread over 84 metres. The veins are generally about 2 cm wide, but in some places this goes up to 20 cm.
This occurrence was first found by Daniel Cunning and Thomas Gault in November 1929. The deposit was sampled by Miller in 1932 and by McGerrigle in 1947. Between 1948 and 1956 several companies explored this deposit and other similar lead and zinc occurrences in the area. Then, in 1966 the Donovan brothers acquired the claims for this occurence and the nearby Gravelly occurrence. Gaspé Copper Mines, owner of a now defunct mine in Murdochville, acquired the claim in 1974. After doing some drilling, they gave up the claim, which passed to the hands of Esso Minerals Limited. They explored it from 1979 to 1981. Finally the Donovan brothers did three drill holes 1989.
The best results were 5.71 % for zinc and 6% for lead.
As of 2022, the occurrence is still claimed.
