Outcrops of mica schists and quarzites (pre-Triassic Ambin complex, Ambin massif), and calcschists (Mesozoic cover) in the area around Rifugio Luigi Vaccarone.
A klippe of grey carbonate schists (Vallonetto complex, Upper Cretaceous) crops out in the area of Monte Niblè, to the southwest of Rifugio Vaccarone.
