A former Ag-Au occurrence/mine located in the N½ sec. 11, T19N, R20W, G&SRM, 2 miles NE of Oatman, about 1.8 miles N of Elephants Tooth, and about ¾ of a mile NE of the Gold Road Mine, on Bureau of Land Management administered land and/or National Forest land. Previous owners and operators include Peck and Luchina, Comet and Queen, and Whitaker. Owned by the Gold Ore Mining Company (1927). Started in 1918 and worked intermittently until 1926. Ultimately closed 1935. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a fissure vein deposit hosted in the Pliocene Gold Road latite. The ore body strikes N68W and dips 82SW at a width of 1.52 meters and a length of 30.48 meters. Country rock is all latite and along parts of the vein, is intensely altered. Most ore mined between the 300 and 600 foot levels. The ore shoot was approximately 100 feet long and 4 to 5 feet wide. local rocks include Middle Miocene to Oligocene volcanic rocks.
Regional geologic structures include a NNW- to WNW-trending vein and fault system in Tertiary volcanic rocks.
