A former small underground Pb-Ag-Zn-Cu-Au mine located in the NE ¼ sec. 18, T.18S., R.17E., 30 miles SE of Tucson, on private land. Produced 1901-1930. Owned/operated at times, or in part, by Grindell; E.P. Hilton; and, Mexican leasees.
Mineralization is lead carbonate with minor zinc and copper carbonates in irregular replacement orebodies in faulted Permian limestone close to contact with Laramide intrusives (granite).
Workings include shaft and tunnel operations. Worked since the early 1900's and in 1924-1930. Produced some 700 tons of ore averaging about 20% Pb, 3 oz. Ag/T and minor Cu, Zn and Au.
