Sulphur mines located in the area to the west of Monte Gabbara (613 m a.s.l.). The most famous mine is Gabbara Persico (see coordinates), for which the period of maximum production was recorded between 1892 and 1964. Other mines in the area include Gabbara Amico Piazza (37°29'43" N, 13°56'31' E), Gabbara Bellanca Emma (37°29'49" N, 13°56'28' E), Gabbara Marcato Bianco Falzone (37°30'18" N, 13°56'33' E), and Gabbara Marcato Bianco Roxas (37°30'6" N, 13°56'54' E).
