State geologist Jens Hysingjord visited this locality in 1965 (Hysingjord 1965). Why Hysingjord uses the name "Knipanheia VII" for this locality is difficult to understand, while the area by that name is located several hundreds of meters to the south.
He describes the quarry to be a water-filled "synk" 10-15 m long and 10 m wide, with an assumed depth of 2 m. He also writes that in the bottom quartz is supposed to be exposed.
In the wall "tint" (coarse grained mix of quartz and feldspar) is visible.
He reports that another, smaller quarry is located 70 m to the east in the same pegmatite, but this one is not positively visible on the altitude map.
The total length of this pegmatite dyke is ca. 100 m, with a width of ca. 15 m. Hysingjord further reports that there is a lot of tint, but also considerable quantities of large masses of quartz and feldspar.
He assumes this to be a deposit of considerable size.
The quarry is clearly visible on the altitude map.
NOTE:
Stensrud (2009) lists a locality he names as "Salegruva (Håverstad 6)", but that is a quarry situated in Birkenes and not in Iveland.
At the moment (2018) it is not possible to say who owned the land at the time this quarry was active, and why this locality is not included with the Håverstad quarries.
Hysingjord (1965) makes no mention of any relationship with these quarries either.
