Gold prospect. Little information found other than drilling results from exploration in recent years by Millennium Minerals. It is uncertain if the deposit was named due to agate also being found at the site, but agate is common in streams in the Nullagine area. Decent red/white banded agate has been seen obtained from near the town.
To reach the prospect travel south along a road, half-way between the Nullagine River and Five Mile Creek on the Skull Springs Road. After a few kilometres a small dam or muddy lake is reached. 500 metres before this is a road heading south-west to the Golden Eagle Gold Mine and processing plant. The agate prospect is located on exploration company maps as two parallel north-east to south-west mineralised zones just south of the haul road.
No workings of any sort could be seen at the time of writing. There are many tracks, bulldozed portions and disturbed ground in the general area. Map approximate only. Significant gold grades have been discovered here with albite alteration at the surface.
