Wendy Gully is a large abandoned open pit, 5 kilometres west of Broad Arrow, bordering the south side of the Broad Arrow-Ora Banda Road. The two rehabilitated tailings plateaus either side of the pit should be very apparent.
The mine began as a small operation on a primary stockwork resource, and developed into an open pit and underground operation achieving 200 000 ounces. The deposit was discovered by A1 Minerals, and is presently owned by Norton Goldfields. The mine was operational around the mid 1990's. More information is needed.
It was the site of a multi year reptile survey in the early 2000's, studying the re-colonisation by wildlife of disturbed areas caused by mining. 25 species of reptiles were located on the tailings heaps.
