The Margaret Gold Mine is 500 metres east of the Porphyry mine, and borders the north side of the Yerilla-Yarri Road. It consists of a couple of tiny pits and some mullock. It was one of the leases pegged when gold was discovered in this area in 1933.
The mine is on the north-south Paget line of lode. The Paget Gold Mining Company worked the reef in the 1930's, but were eventually forfeited by the company. Paget was part of the Edjudina Gold Mines Ltd, which was active both at Yarri and Edjudina at the time. Several prospecting parties are reported to be working the area in 1941.
