Landek is a forested elongated hill, located in the Silesian part of the statutory city of Ostrava in the cadastral area of Koblov and Petřkovice above the confluence of the Odra and Ostravice. It is a European and world-famous locality mainly in terms of geology, archaeology, history, science and mining. Its importance is compared with more well-known hills (eg Říp, Blaník, Oreb or Tábor).
