Harriett; Lady Harriett; Miss Harriett
The lease was one of the earliest to be taken out after gold was discovered in the area. Originally known as the Harriett (or possibly Lady Harriett), by an Adelaide syndicate. A small amount of work was done, the lease condemned by an independent expert, which was enough for the syndicate to abandon it.
A series of prospectors then tried their luck. Jones and Co in 1901; Vincent, Shearer and Griffiths 1901-1905, Green and party 1904, Griffiths again in 1912.
The lease then appears to have been forgotten about. It came back into prominence in the early 2000s, with exploration done of the St. Patrick Reef, by the owners of Norseman Gold.
St. Patricks Reef is hosted in a cross-link structure between the giant Mararoa and Crown Reefs. The reef strikes for 500 metres, and dips shallowly to moderately south. It is bounded to the west by the Mararoa structures and to the east by the Crown structures. Estimated resources are 146,000 ounces.
