Known as the Pontiac Road Float Copper, this 56,200 pound piece of float copper (13x17 feet and 4-17 inches thick) was discovered by two prospectors in 1996. In 2010, the specimen was moved to Presque Isle Park near Marquette for public viewing in the hope that enough donations could be raised to protect the copper from being sold as scrap. In 2016, the float copper was purchased by Bryan Lees of Collector's Edge and moved to an exhibition hall in Chenzhou, Hunan, China where it is on permanent public display. It is the world's largest piece of float copper discovered.
