In the late 1980s there was excavation due to housing development at the end of this lane. The blasting opened the bedrock, Glastonbury Gneiss, exposing mineralized veins, and pegmatite. The most notable mineral was epidote in prismatic crystals occurring in quartz. Fredric Schuster, Neal White, Joel Sweet and other collectors collected there.
