Sulphur mines, worked probably in Roman times. Closed in 1970.
Aunque pudieron ser explotadas desde época romana, las primeras concesiones documentadas se remontan al siglo XVI, siendo explotadas hasta la década de los sesenta del siglo XX. Han sido denominadas como "Minero Industrial del Coto de Hellín", "Azufrera del Coto de Hellín" y "Coto Minero de Hellín".
A principios del siglo XX el poblado minero, actual localidad de Las Minas, llegó a tener unos 2000 habitantes y contaba con central eléctrica y linea de ferrocarril. En la actualidad Las Minas no cuenta con mas de 80 habitantes.
