According to Robert Stoufer, "I found this pocket with 2 friends, Dick Dayvault and K.D. Ashbrook, after having searched for it for 8 years [from about 1982 to 1990]. Tracing float crystals up the steep hillside, Dick located a pocket with milky quartz crystals attached to the sides, and when we decided it was too dangerous for all 3 of us to try collecting on the steep slope, we had K.D. hike up about 15 feet to a flat area. She dug in the soil there, and found a 10" doubly-terminated glassy milky quartz crystal. She was in the middle of the main pocket area, it turned out, and we named the pocket after her."
