This active quarry is worked by Carrières PCM, a division of the Piercon Group.
Please note that, as of June 2011, PCM quarries have been closed to collecting, further to a meeting of the quarry owners with their legal advisers. This is related to a work accident and has nothing to do with our hobby.
The following description is taken from the Deposit File of the MRNF (Ministère des ressources naturelles et de la faune) :
The sequence is assigned to the Bourret Formation, a member of the Laurier Group. It is composed of medium to dark grey calcilutite, from little to very clayey, in more or less well-defined beds separated by thin interbeds of mudstone or black non-calcareous clayshale. Very pure calcilutite, and orange-brown dolomitic beds, are also noted.
An interesting suite of small, well crystallized minerals are found in cavities.
