Albite
Formula: Na(AlSi3O8)
Description: Found in cavity lined by titanite crystals and containing relic gray calcite in the SE wall of the quarry.
'Apophyllite Group'
Formula: AB4[Si8O22]X · 8H2O
Colour: Colourless
Description: Fine, clear, fresh, short prismatic crystals in cavitiers in limestone (or calcite pegmatite); cleavages to 15 mm in blocks of pegmatite. Pseudomorphs of silica after the apophyllite preserve the birefringence and interference figure of the original apophyllite.
Aragonite
Formula: CaCO3
Description: Occurs in crusts and veinlets. Notable occurrence in this quarry is acicular crystals in gleaming stellate groups up to 15 mm in diameter, lining small veinlets of cavities in limestone.
Arsenopyrite
Formula: FeAsS
Description: Occurs near marble-quartz diorite contact.
Brucite
Formula: Mg(OH)2
Colour: White, yellow, gray
Description: As bands of waxy grains, 1 to 5 mm diameter, in marble roughly parallel to quartz diorite contact.

Colour: Very pale green.
Description: Clinochlore or prochlorite. Occurs as groups of 5 to 10 mm flakes, forming the matrix of pale diopside crystals.

Description: As grains and 1 mm crystals near contact. Very rare.

Habit: Large dodecahedral faces bordered by narrow hexoctahedral and trapezohedral faces; also as simple dodecahedrons.
Colour: Dark red-brown, paler red-brown
Description: Occurs associated with dark green diopside in the quartz diorite contact zone on the W side of the quarry. These appear to be manganiferous grossular-andradite. Paler material occurs in the quartz monzonite porphyry contact zone.

Description: Rather abundant.
'Limonite'

Description: Highly aluminous variety, mineral 'B' of Woodford
Magnetite

Colour: Black
Description: Occurs as 1 mm crystals in pradazzite; a very minor mineral here.
Merwinite
Formula: Ca3Mg(SiO4)2
Monticellite
Formula: CaMgSiO4
Colour: Brown, pink, gray
Description: Occurred here in large quantity as nodular masses from 2 to 18 inches in diameter, resembling boulders or concretions. None were found in matrix. Some of these nodules were found to contain inclusions of green vesuvianite; others change from brown to gray and colourless monticellite internally, and contain blue calcite with crestmoreite in the center.

Description: Occurs as coatings.

Colour: Red-brown, colourless, pale green

Description: Occurs near marble-quartz diorite contact.

Description: Occurs in small pegmatites & quartz diorite rock.

Description: Globular grains and poorly developed crystals.

Description: Perhaps the most abundant constituent of the greenish gray spurrite-gehlenite-merwinite rock that constitutes a considerable part of the contact rock above the SE corner of the quarry.
Strontianite

Colour: White
Description: Occurs as sparse, tufted fibers in minute balls on a joint surface of rock.
Thaumasite
Formula: Ca3(SO4)[Si(OH)6](CO3) · 12H2O
Habit: Acicular hexagonal with flat basal terminations.
Colour: White
Description: Abundant in this quarry. Occurs as veins and surfaces in and on spurrite-rich rock. Exhibits soft, silky fibers to 5 cm thick. Microscopically reveals closely grouped, radiating, acicular hexagonal crystals.
Titanite
Formula: CaTi(SiO4)O
Habit: Flat, double-wedge habit.
Colour: Brown
Description: Found in a cavity in garnet rock, lined with titanite crystals 5 to 10 mm diameter, in the SE face of the quarry. Coarse, massive gray calcite was dissolved from the dcavity and much coarse, massive albite remained.
Vermiculite
Formula: Mg0.7(Mg,Fe,Al)6(Si,Al)8O20(OH)4 · 8H2O
Description: Occurs in quartz diorite pegmatites.
Vesuvianite
Formula: Ca19Fe3+Al4(Al6Mg2)(◻4)◻[Si2O7]4[(SiO4)10]O(OH)9
Colour: Green
Description: Occurs as inclusions in monticellite nodules.
Wollastonite
Formula: Ca3(Si3O9)
Description: Cleavages to 4-5 cm in pegmatite blocks & in contact rock with white marble.
